Celebrating July 4th in Your Business
Independence Day has a lot going for it. There’s red, white and blue, Old Glory, fireworks… maybe a barbeque with family and friends or a concert under the stars. It’s also the only major holiday in the U.S. between the end of May and Labor Day at the start of September, so why not make it the centerpiece of your summer marketing? After all, your customers have shed their winter blues and everyone wants to get out and have fun. Show some patriotic spirit, put the focus on fun consumer experiences and it’s hard to go wrong.
How can you take advantage of this great holiday in your marketing? Read on for some marketing ideas:
Celebrate. Get your website and your Facebook, Twitter and other social media accounts dolled up for the occasion. Select some red, white and blue alternatives to your banner and header images, and be sure to include an easy link to your 4th of July specials. Many of your potential viewers will be traveling this July 4th, so make sure everything is mobile-friendly.
Quizzes. Run a 4th of July themed quiz on your website and market it in your email automation. These types of quizzes are a fun diversion on the Internet and will attract people who might not otherwise know about your company.
Red, white and blue meals. Pretty much everyone will be hosting or attending some type of Independence Day event, so make sure they have something to share. Or send your list some colorful, fun recipes.
4th of July stories. Run a contest that prompts fans to submit their favorite July 4th memories or stories and vote on the best ones. Offer brand-related prizes to the fans with the most votes. Fans will ask friends to vote for their entries, prompting an avalanche of shares and doing some of your marketing for you.
