Holiday Marketing Now
Do you want to simplify your Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales marketing, make it more effective and serve your customers better? Automated emails to the rescue!
Once October rolls around customers are thinking about holiday shopping and are more apt to open emails that contain gift inspirations and deals. So even if you aren't participating in Black Friday or Cyber Monday, promoting your December holiday specials now makes sense.
Here are some tips to start getting those awesome results:
Get those subscriptions. Offer “an exclusive Black Friday deal” sign-up form on your website to acquire email addresses. If you're a brick-and-mortar shop, either have sign-up forms available, or distribute cards directing customers to your site to get this deal.
Segment your list. Taking the time to personalize your email campaigns and deliver them to the right audience can really pay off. Customers are more likely to open emails if the subject line is geared towards them.
Don't hide the call-to-action. Make sure your message is first and foremost in your email. Use hard-to-resist phrases like:
- “Today Only!”
- “While Supplies Last”
- “Free, Free, Free, Free, FREE!!!” Free ANYTHING will attract the eye! Free gift with purchase! Free shipping! Get the idea?
Mix it up. Not every email should be a sales pitch. Offer gift guides such as “20 gifts for under $20.” Encourage activity on your social media sites with contests or special offers.
Why so serious? The holidays are a great time to loosen up and make your customers smile. Think of ways you can incorporate child-like glee (use graphics created by a kid) or that special holiday magic (50% proceeds gifted to a charity).
Don't give up. The key to sales can really be summed up in two words: Be persistent. Sadly, most purchases customers make are not on impulse. Customers often need to be introduced and reintroduced to your company, and reminded and cajoled about what great products and services you offer. And then they have to be reminded again.
An automated email campaign is a great way to kick off your holiday marketing, and after the initial preparation, it’s a timesaver that will lead to success!
